Job Summary
Practice Associate III – Specialty Coordination responsibilities include greeting patients and visitors, managing registrations and intake information, verifying insurance eligibility, scheduling follow-ups and referrals, obtaining prior authorizations, and assisting with cash handling in the EHR. The role supports complex scheduling and inter-specialty coordination, ensures accurate visit details, and may rotate to other sites as Team Lead or Preceptor. Requires strong medical terminology knowledge, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and a patient-focused, service-oriented approach to deliver an optimal patient experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a working knowledge of Epic/EHR are preferred; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency is required
- A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience
- Advanced knowledge/proficiency of Medical Terminology
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service and communicate effectively
- Ability to mentor teammates and supervise/lead
- Experience with scheduling, registrations, and insurance eligibility in an EHR environment
- Prior experience with Epic/EHR is preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus, but not required
