Job Summary
Provides basic nursing care for geriatric residents, participates in admission assessments and ongoing condition assessment, communicates changes to the interdisciplinary team, documents assessments, participates in care planning and updates plans as interventions change, administers nursing interventions and medications safely, performs IV care when IV certified, uses SBARR for physician notifications, monitors care plan delivery, contributes to QAPI-driven problem resolution, supports resident and family education, and may take on additional duties as assigned; requires LPN license, IV and CPR certifications, and ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Education from an accredited school of nursing resulting in Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Current license as an LPN in the working state
- IV Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment
- Current CPR/AED Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment
- Must be able to assess basic nursing care needs of geriatric residents
- Excellent communication skills with residents, families, and staff
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Critical thinking skills
