Job Summary
Provide basic nursing care by assisting in resident assessments on admission and ongoing basis, accurately documenting findings and communicating significant changes to the interdisciplinary team. Implement nursing interventions including medication administration and treatments, while using critical thinking to monitor residents for behavioral changes or untoward symptoms. Answer call lights and assist with activities of daily living as needed, utilizing the SBARR communication tool to notify physicians timely during crises. Maintain composure during family dissatisfaction or staff disputes, ensuring care plans are delivered effectively through QAPI problem resolution. Complete at least twelve hours of nursing-related continuing education annually.
Required Qualifications
- Education from an accredited school of nursing that results in becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Current license in the state you will be working as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- IV Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment
- Current CPR/AED Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment
- Must be able to assess the basic nursing care needs of the geriatric resident
- Must possess excellent communication skills to interact with residents, visitors and staff
- Excellent time management and organizational skills are required
- Must possess critical thinking skills
Desired Qualifications
- Long-term care/Rehab/Assisted Living experience preferred
