PRAC Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner - South Bend Orthopaedics

Job Summary
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic orthopedic conditions while providing exceptional medical care to patients with musculoskeletal injuries. Work autonomously in a 1-to-1 model with an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine, sharing time between assisting in surgery approximately two days a week and running a clinic practice schedule of two to three days. Round on inpatient cases and first assist for surgical procedures, maintaining proficiency in patient electronic documentation and communication. Take weekend call with your physician approximately six weekends per year. This role supports a busy multispecialty orthopedic practice serving northern Indiana and southwest Michigan, with affiliations to the University of Notre Dame Athletics Department and Indiana University School of Medicine.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Program
- Current certification
- Active Indiana license with no restrictions
- Must be able to take weekend call with your physician (~6 weekends per year)
- Must be able to assist in surgery (approximately two days a week)
- Must be able to run a clinic practice schedule (approximately two-three days a week)
- Must be able to evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic orthopedic conditions
- Must be able to work autonomously while maintaining a close working relationship with SBO Physicians
- Must be able to provide exceptional medical care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions
- Must possess strong communication skills
- Must display professionalism when working with patients, families, and the community
- Must demonstrate proficiency and comfort with all methods of patient electronic documentation and communication
- Must be able to first assist for surgical cases
- Must be able to round on inpatient cases
Desired Qualifications
- Orthopedic experience preferred but not required
