Job Summary
Software Engineer to join a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. Responsible for software development in Java, design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and tooling for operational automation; work across multiple systems and disciplines with minimal direction; interface with system support groups; participate in automated build pipelines and adhere to coding standards within an Agile environment; candidate must have DoD SECRET clearance and be able to work in Huntsville, AL.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field with 5 years of relevant work experience; or Master's degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
- Experience and knowledge of software practices such as coding standards, automated testing, automated build pipelines, and configuration
- Software engineering and software development with strong Java/J2EE, C++/OO, or similar language experience
- Experience developing enterprise applications on Linux (Windows experience also desired)
- Strong problem-solving skills, including ability to review performance and operational issues, identify root cause, and recommend/design/implement a solution
- Use of common software development and management tools such as Maven, Git/GitHub, Nexus, and Eclipse
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
- Self-motivated and customer-oriented
- Security Clearance: DoD SECRET level required
