Job Summary
PR Representative responsible for protecting, elevating, and advancing Team Penske’s brand across NASCAR, INDYCAR, IMSA, and other programs. Drive proactive outreach, maintain consistent team messaging, draft press materials (press releases, talking points, Q&As), develop and execute communications plans, coordinate media coverage, manage appearances and driver/team scheduling, and provide on-site PR support at events. Collaborate with communications, marketing, branding, partnerships, and leadership; travel to race weekends and related events; manage media inquiries, monitor coverage, and report on PR activity to leadership. Requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), at least three years in professional PR or communications, strong writing and interpersonal skills, ability to manage multiple priorities under deadline, and willingness to travel, including weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field; or equivalent experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional PR or communications experience
- Motorsports, sports, or highly visible corporate communications experience preferred
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities under deadline
- Experience working proactively and professionally to build relationships with media journalists and outlets in all formats
- Sound judgment, discretion, and ability to perform in high-pressure environments
- Experience with crisis communication
- Working knowledge of digital and social media strategies and copywriting is preferred
- Self-starter who thrives both independently and within a cross-functional team
- Ability to work weekends and travel as required
