Job Summary
Supervise and mentor medical assistants during their transition to clinical practice, providing in-person guidance and constructive feedback to ensure adherence to clinical guidelines and protocols. Guide new hires in developing core competencies while addressing questions and concerns regarding day-to-day operations and best practices within the ambulatory clinic. Serve as a role model for professionalism, effective communication, and critical thinking to foster professional growth and smooth integration into the work environment. Support Medical Assistants requiring remediation to ensure they are confident and capable of meeting the demands of their role.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a high school graduate or the equivalent with GED
- Must have completed a medical assistant program that meets certification eligibility requirements
- Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- CPR required
- 5 years physician office/ambulatory care experience required
- Demonstrates knowledge in the application of policies, procedures, and protocols
- Medical office ambulatory knowledge
- Must have good written and verbal skills
- Knowledge of EPIC
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, teach, and provide feedback to others
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to model professionalism and uphold high standards of patient care
