Job Summary
Analyse technical and regulatory requirements for powertrain systems and evaluate physical test data to support certification and development activities. Support powertrain testing programmes by ensuring alignment with compliance standards while investigating issues to drive structured problem resolution. Review and assess data to deliver compliant, high-performing powertrain systems within a development environment. This role requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering and 3-6 years of experience in powertrain testing or development. Join the Gaydon team in Coventry working on a hybrid schedule with clearable security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience
- Experience working within powertrain testing, development, or compliance environments
- Familiarity with engineering standards and certification processes
- Strong engineering and/or product legislation background
- Experience analysing and interpreting technical requirements
- Proven experience analysing physical test data
- Experience as a Test or Development Engineer within powertrain environments
- Knowledge of powertrain products, test facilities, and procedures
- Strong organisational and stakeholder engagement skills
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Customer-focused approach
- This role may require you to have or be willing to go through Security Clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Experience analysing regulatory requirements, particularly emissions-related
- Understanding of powertrain homologation and compliance processes
- Experience with powertrain test data and measurement challenges
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g. Python, MATLAB, Concerto)
- Knowledge of FMEA, Six Sigma, or structured problem-solving methodologies
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and drive change
