Job Summary
Powertrain Controls Simulation Model Developer responsible for building high-fidelity plant models (engines, electrical networks, transmissions) to support MIL/SIL/HIL testing and validation of control software. Work within Ford's Core Modeling and Simulation team to create and maintain the virtual vehicle ecosystem, enabling Model-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop workflows and the use of Functional Mock-up Units (FMUs). Engage with cross-functional teams (Physical Component Design, Embedded Controls, Calibration/ADAS) and apply software engineering practices, version control (Git), issue tracking (Jira), and CI pipelines. Focus areas include thermodynamics, electromagnetics, and fluid dynamics to eliminate dependency on physical prototypes and deliver safe, validated vehicle software."
