Job Summary
Supervise and engage students in a safe, supportive before and/or afterschool program by planning age-appropriate faith-based curriculum, including daily devotionals, object lessons, STEM activities, and homework assistance. Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment while ensuring constant physical proximity and auditory awareness of every child to guarantee their safety and well-being. Implement classroom discipline using positive guidance, monitor attendance, and communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress. Execute emergency drills, administer CPR and First Aid as needed, and report any suspected abuse or neglect immediately to the Site Director or law enforcement. Collaborate with staff to ensure a cohesive program and adhere to State Minimum Standards.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years or older
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Able to repeatedly bend, stoop and run
- Must be able to lift and carry a child if a situation presents itself
- Monday thru Friday 2:30pm - 6:30pm
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a state licensed childcare center or church setting
- Willing to obtain 15 hours of Early Childhood Education within the first 6 months of position
- Working knowledge of Texas State Minimum Standards as it pertains to the operation of the facility
