Job Summary
Operate steam generating boilers, ammonia refrigeration compressors, water systems, and compressed air equipment while conducting utility log rounds and meter readings. Perform facility repairs and maintenance on doors, drains, exhaust fans, and other related equipment, adhering to preventive maintenance schedules. Execute general plumbing tasks involving PVC, black iron, copper, and stainless steel, and maintain constant compliance of emergency equipment and PPE. Assist with energy savings and plant improvements, ensuring good housekeeping without direction. Work from verbal and written instructions as a HAZWOPER team member, demonstrating effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Required Qualifications
- Must take cardio pulmonary test
- Willing to train on overtime and work holidays
- Must demonstrate effective process knowledge
- Show listening and approachability skills with teamwork ability
- Demonstrate leadership capabilities
- Exhibit effective problem solving skills
- Excellent attendance/safety/performance record
- Good interpersonal/teamwork skills
- Required to be a HAZWOPER team member
- Must be able to properly wear respiratory equipment (For FIT Test)
- Maintaining constant compliance of emergency equipment
- Maintenance of PPE
- Ability to work from brief verbal as well as moderately complex written instructions
- 2 years' experience or technical training in the following areas (Refrigeration, Boiler operation, water treatment)
- Good communication/teamwork skills
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred experience with pipefitting, plumbing, rebuilding pumps, gearboxes, welding, layout and fabrication, and mechanical drawings
