Job Summary
Technical Communicator provides expert technical support and troubleshooting for Caterpillar-powered equipment within Mustang Cat's Power Systems Division. Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving complex equipment issues for service teams across locations, mentoring dealer technicians to enhance technical proficiency, collaborating with Caterpillar engineers to resolve critical issues, conducting applied failure analysis, managing technical service requests, supporting warranty resolutions, and aiding sales & parts teams with product knowledge. Candidate must have hands-on CAT engine experience, ability to read schematics and engineering drawings, proficiency with precision measuring tools and dyno testing, and strong communication and teamwork skills to improve equipment performance and service processes.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Diesel Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong hands-on experience with Caterpillar engines & power systems
- Expertise in internal combustion engines (spark vs. compression ignition)
- Ability to read schematics, engineering drawings & machining specs
- Proficiency in precision measuring tools & dyno testing procedures
- Familiarity with CAT diagnostic & service systems
- Excellent communication & problem-solving abilities
