Power Systems Sr. Electrical Engineer

Job Summary
Design electrical schematics and create comprehensive design packages including elevation drawings, layouts, and bills of materials for switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, and motor control centers. Specify and select components based on one-line diagrams using industry-standard software such as Siemens COMPAS, Schneider SE Advantage, and Eaton Bid Manager. Develop complex control and protection schemes, collaborate with mechanical teams for system integration, and perform factory inspections to verify compliance with engineering drawings. Prepare technical reports and documentation while staying current with emerging technologies in power systems and renewable energy integration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in power systems engineering for industrial or commercial applications
- Strong understanding of power system theory, including power generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization principles
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office and EPlan
- Familiarity with electrical codes and standards: UL1558, UL891, UL67, UL845, UL 508A
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented and quality-focused

Desired Qualifications
- Ability to perform short-circuit calculations and apply protective device coordination principles is a plus
- 7+ years of experience in power systems engineering for industrial or commercial applications
- Proficiency in power system analysis software tools such as PSCAD, PSS/E, or ETAP
- Experience in leading large scale custom switchboard designs
