Job Summary
Power Systems Sales Engineer for Data Centers responsible for technical proposals, RFQ/RFP preparation, pricing and BOM documentation, and presenting solutions to customers. The role focuses on data center electrical infrastructure (low/medium voltage, power transformers, UPS, generators, controls and monitoring), developing and maintaining customer relationships, coordinating with vendors and internal teams, and leading site visits, factory witness tests, and technical presentations to win new business while managing scope, schedule, and budget. Requires hands-on electrical engineering knowledge, ability to interpret schematics and drawings, and strong consultative sales skills with Fortune 500 accounts; travel across regions is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Huge Plus)
- 5-15 yrs of relevant consultative / Data Center Solutions experience
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure and mission-critical environments
- Ability to read electrical schematics and specifications
- Experience presenting technical solutions and leading sales processes
- Business contacts with Data Center / IT executives (CIO, CTO, VP IT, etc.)
- Experience with OEM equipment and data center OEMs (UPS, Generators, PDUs, etc.)
- Proven track record in proposal development, pricing negotiations, and project management
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel to client sites and events
- Team-oriented with ability to build long-term relationships
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Military background a plus
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Experience with value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
- Background in critical facilities OEMs and design/build environments
- Membership in professional organizations (AFCOM, 7x24, DCD, Uptime, etc.)
