Job Summary
Perform routine maintenance on generator packages, industrial engine packages, and electric power generation system components under supervision. Assist senior technicians with load bank testing, cabling, and cable termination while conducting detailed inspections and basic troubleshooting. Prepare service reports, work orders, parts lists, and time cards to accurately document activities and up-sell opportunities. Travel frequently with potential overnight stays, working overtime as needed, and adhere to all safety policies and customer care standards. Maintain professional image and integrity in stressful situations while owning required tools and meeting DOT requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Associate Degree from an accredited vocational school preferred or comparable work experience required
- 3 years experience with troubleshooting and maintenance methods for Power Systems products required
- Must own required tools
- Must meet DOT requirements
- Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English)
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time along with walking, sitting, climbing stairs, reaching pushing, pulling, leaning and twisting
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs in accordance with Western States Lifting Safe Work Practice
- Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies
- Knowledgeable in electric power generation systems
- Consistent attendance
- Ability to work overtime with minimal notice required
- Ability to travel frequently with the potential of overnight stays
- Knowledge and use of Microsoft computer products or other comparable systems required
Desired Qualifications
- Associate Degree from an accredited vocational school preferred
