Job Summary
Power Systems Equipment Field Mechanic sought to troubleshoot, repair, recondition and maintain generators, switchgear, ATSs, electrical systems, engines, and components in field environments (potentially including hyperscale data centers). Role requires travel to remote locations, working in adverse weather, and communicating status and recommendations to clients and management. Responsibilities include diagnosing equipment malfunctions, repairing and servicing equipment, planning cost of repairs, maintaining tools and company equipment, ensuring safety compliance, and providing on-the-job training as assigned. Strong emphasis on English communication, CDL as required by law, knowledge of CAT components, and ability to obtain appropriate licensing. Shift is 1st/Day, in-field location with in-person remote arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Six months of related experience in similar role and environment
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English
- Safety-first mindset
- Ability to complete skills assessment (eTRAIN test)
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent client service skills
- Own and maintain required personal tools
- Caterpillar experience preferred
- Experience with control panels, engines, and switchgear
- Knowledge of generators, ATS, and transfer switches
- Ability to perform basic start-ups at client sites
- MSHA training or equivalent preferred
- Must communicate in English
- DOT licensing, medical card, and endorsements as required by vehicle size
