Job Summary
Power Systems Modeling Principal Engineer to define, own, and advance Eaton’s enterprise modeling strategy for DC distribution and converter-driven architectures. Lead the development of multidomain simulation frameworks, establish modeling governance, and ensure model insights influence system architecture, requirements, design tradeoffs, and validation. Collaborate with Chief Power System Engineers, Applications Engineering, System Architects, and MBSE teams to align programs. Build scalable model structures using PSCAD and Simulink/Simscape Electrical; manage multitool workflows (PSS®E, CYME, ETAP, DIgSILENT, Modelica); translate application needs into modeling plans; drive governance, documentation standards, and reusable assets. Support real-time validation with platforms like OpalRT, Typhoon HIL, and ETDS. Requires strong communication across multidisciplinary teams and demonstrated ability to influence modeling direction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Power Electronics from an accredited institution
- Minimum 15 years of experience in power systems modeling such as EMT simulation, system-level analysis in converter-dominated architectures
