Job Summary
Undertake studies and analysis using power systems simulation software, qualifying results with theory and first principles. Support project design and delivery from tendering through manufacturing, testing, and commissioning, including hardware specification, cabling, and I/O schedules. Influence system and equipment design specifications while generating technical documents, reports, and deliverables. Support factory acceptance tests, customer-facing meetings, and design validation at the Whetstone test facility. Integrate GEV and third-party supplier equipment throughout the development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Has applicable, or transferrable equipment and systems level knowledge and experience
- ideally with deep domain experience in naval or related offshore and marine applications
- Has detailed working knowledge on power systems, and power conversion and supporting systems, equipment and infrastructure
- Has detailed knowledge of power systems and power systems analysis
- can undertake supporting analysis, studies and author supporting reports
- potentially validate using HIL or physical testing
- Is working to, or already achieved CEng status
- Is a UK National
- holds, or is eligible to obtain, UK security clearance to SC level
