Power Supply Electrical Technician

Job Summary
Fabricate, set up, operate, test, repair, and modify complex electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment for laboratory projects based on schematics. Troubleshoot problems, conduct repairs, and provide technical support for instruments while preparing equipment for testing phases using diagnostic software. Write, update, and test procedures and documentation; enter work information into databases and produce reports. Perform environmental, health, and safety duties including surveys, waste disposal, and periodic safety inspections. Procure parts and supplies, submit requisitions, and assist in equipment design and implementation. Respond to operational and emergency requirements, often working off-hour shifts or serving as shift supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- HS degree (or technical certificate or equivalent)
- 5+ years of extensive related experience or up to 3+ year of DOE laboratory experience
- Demonstrated experience in the assigned area
- Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of electrical, mechanical and/or ES&H technology concepts, practices, and procedures from extensive experience or academic study
- Possesses advanced knowledge in specific areas
- Ability to work on complex projects and assignments
- May be required to legally operate a government vehicle
- Must be able to work from our Batavia office
- Must successfully complete and pass a federal background check investigation
- Must obtain and maintain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential
- Must produce a REAL-ID, or equivalent, to access the Fermilab Campus
