Power Studies Engineer Critical Facilities

Job Summary
Power Studies Engineer to lead and perform power systems studies for mission-critical data centers and hyperscale/colocation projects. Partner with engineering teams to develop designs for electrical power distribution, evaluate equipment, and produce final deliverables such as breaker settings tables, TCCs, and arc flash labels. Responsibilities include autonomous day-to-day work, leading design teams, mentoring engineers, leading power-systems studies, load-flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, and transient stability analyses; develop proposals, QA/QC reviews, and template/automation improvements. Requires experience with ETAP/PSS/E/SKM/Easy Power, ability to communicate with clients, and a track record of delivering design and analytical deliverables for data-center facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar engineering degree
- 5-10+ year’s Electrical Engineering experience
- Licensed PE / EIT a Plus
- Experience designing electrical power systems for complex data center/mission critical facilities
- Power system simulation software with ETAP, PSS/E, SKM, or Easy Power
- MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Strong client-facing experience and ability to act as primary point of contact
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Understanding of electrical codes and standards
- Experience with protective devices: relays, circuit breakers, fuses
- Knowledge of arc flash hazards and safety practices
- Ability to develop proposals including scope, schedule, budgets
- Minimal travel: 10-20%
- Experience with reviewing design drawings and equipment submittals
