Job Summary
Operate, maintain, test, monitor, adjust and document power plant equipment and systems to provide reliable electricity, steam and hot water to the hospital; perform preventative maintenance on boilers, chillers, and auxiliaries; assist with security duties, vehicle maintenance, snow removal, and testing of the fire alarm system; support emergency procedures, inventory management, and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements; ensure safe work practices and equipment readiness, including handling medical waste pickup manifests and coordinating with Facilities Office.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must hold, or be eligible for and acquire, a fourth class engineer license (NIULPE)
- Must possess a current driver’s license and have maintained a safe and clean driving record for past three years
- Must be flexible to cover different shifts to maintain 24/7 coverage in Power Plant and Security division
- Ability to enter boiler and other pressure vessel manholes preferred
- Must be able to work rotating weekend
