Job Summary
Operate and maintain central heating, air-conditioning, and cooling equipment by managing boilers, pumps, heat exchangers, and centrifugal chillers to ensure safe steam and water flow. Monitor chemical levels to prevent scale and corrosion, respond to equipment emergencies using standard operating procedures, and document all routine and extraordinary events on designated log sheets. Respond to alarms and perform operations related to the Building Automation System while maintaining other building equipment and preventive maintenance tasks during second and third shifts. Requires 3 years of experience with high-pressure steam equipment or similar systems, a valid driver's license, and familiarity with chemical treatment and computer software.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- post-secondary training in a maintenance related field
- valid driver's license
- meet SEHC insurance requirements
- 3 years' experience operating a central plant with high pressure steam equipment, large capacity centrifugal chillers and related equipment – pumps, compressors and control systems
- 3 years' experience maintaining or installing similar equipment
- 18 months experience with St Elizabeth in the Maintenance Department
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with steam and condensate
- General familiarity with computers systems, pumps, chemical treatment, centrifugal chillers, and cooling towers, and computer operation and software applications
