Job Summary
Power Plant Operator / Mechanic Technician needed to operate daily landfill gas to energy power plant in Pittsburg, CA. Responsibilities include daily plant operations, assisting in maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of reciprocating engines and balance-of-plant equipment (compressors, pumps, valves), using and learning maintenance databases, and operating HMI/SCADA systems. May coordinate subcontractors for services, conduct inspections and rounds, ensure compliance with plant specs and regulatory entities, and perform other duties. Also required are the ability to lift up to 75 lbs and occasionally transport heavy tools, with possible on-call schedule. Preferred experience with diesel or natural gas engines and familiarity with Jenbacher, Caterpillar, or Waukesha engines; basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel). Salary range is $33.65–$48.80 per hour, plus benefits; compensation may vary by location and remote arrangements.
Required Qualifications
- GED or High School Diploma
- Minimum 2 years equipment operations experience
- Valid Drivers’ License in good standing
