Job Summary
Power Module Applications Engineer providing technical application support for power semiconductor modules (IGBTs, MOSFETs, diodes) across sectors including industrial motor drives, automotive, renewable energy, HVDC, and rail traction. Responsibilities include circuit-level simulation and benchmarking using PLECS and SPICE, developing PLECS/SPICE-compatible models for evaluation and proposals, supporting customers through testing and validation, contributing to product development and documentation, and delivering technical reports and presentations. Requires strong knowledge of power electronics topologies and hands-on hardware design, with proficiency in PLECS and SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, and related tools. Roles are Europe-based with home-working/remotely in Germany and regular travel across Europe.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or above) in microelectronics, solid-state electronics, materials engineering, power electronics, physics, or closely related discipline
- Proficiency with PLECS and SPICE simulators
- Bilingual, professional-level English
- Hands-on experience in power system design, power converter principles, simulation, and testing
- Strong knowledge of power semiconductor devices (IGBTs, MOSFETs, diodes) and their characteristics
- Experience with hardware design and development of power converters in at least one of: industrial motor drives, automotive, rail traction, HVDC, renewable energy
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with power electronics design and testing
- Hands-on experience with hardware development of power converters
- Proficiency with PLECS and SPICE simulators
- Matlab/Simulink, Altium, LabVIEW advantageous
- Professional English communication
- Willingness to travel in Europe
