Job Summary
Power Mechanic Level C role focusing on repairs and preventive maintenance of diesel engines, trucks and forklifts. Responsibilities include inspecting, troubleshooting, diagnosing, performing maintenance per FMCSA and other regulations, interpreting work orders/manuals, replacing defective parts, testing equipment to specifications, and maintaining safety compliance. Requires use of hand tools and test equipment, CDL if driving, ability to lift ~70 lbs, and willingness to work various shifts including nights/weekends. Must pass drug screen and background checks and be authorized to work in the United States.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be 17+ years of age
- Minimum of one-year experience and/or completion of trade school or equivalent
- Ability to use hand tools and test equipment
- Must have own tools
- Knowledge of general repairs and PM criteria
- Specific knowledge of heavy truck repairs in a commercial environment including diesel engine system diagnostics
- Ability to adapt to changing technology
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in engines/electronics/precision equipment
- Physical ability to lift approximately 70 lbs
- CDL and acceptable MVR required if driving on public roads
- FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse registration if CDL holder
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills
- Self-starting and organized
- Strong work ethic and problem solving
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights/weekends
- Ability to work independently or in a team
- Ability to perform under time constraints
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions
- Pre-employment drug screen and background checks
