Job Summary
Conduct detailed US power market research, update energy datasets, and perform production cost modelling for solar, battery storage, and data centre applications. Translate complex data into actionable insights by reviewing Integrated Resource Plans, load forecasts, and capacity procurement targets at the utility level. Deliver report writing and Python-based automation to support cross-functional teams in Power Systems, Offtake, and Land Origination while collaborating with colleagues in India and the US.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the energy sector
- Degree in Power Systems, Energy Systems, or a related renewable energy
- Hands-on experience with PLEXOS, PROMOD, or other relevant production cost modelling software
- Proven ability to set, manage, and track multiple priorities and the details associated with them
- Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and working familiarity with Python
- Fluent in English, with a strong command of professional vocabulary
- A creative thinker who continually seeks better ways of working
- A strong sense of ownership and a commitment to getting things right
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with key US power markets — ERCOT, SPP, MISO, WECC, and PJM — is highly desirable; in-depth expertise in at least one of these markets is strongly preferred
