Job Summary
Model the German and European power markets with BID3 and self-built tools to translate scenarios into price forecasts, dispatch results, and revenue projections. Assess flexibility technologies and their trading strategies, including revenue stacking across day-ahead, intraday, and balancing markets. Turn model results into client-ready insights through reports, presentations, and proposal contributions. Track market and policy developments to feed data and assumptions into the modelling toolkit. Requires a strong quantitative degree, Python and Excel proficiency, and professional German and English. Hybrid work from Berlin.
Required Qualifications
- A strong quantitative degree (energy economics, economics, engineering, physics, mathematics or similar)
- Solid analytical and programming skills
- Comfortable in Python
- Comfortable in Excel
- Professional level of German and English language, written and spoken
- Curiosity, precision and the ability to explain quantitative results to non-modellers
Desired Qualifications
- Ideally have touched optimisation or dispatch modelling in studies, a thesis or a first job
- A demonstrable interest in power markets, for example through coursework, a thesis, an internship or personal projects
- Hands-on experience with a market model
