Job Summary
Complete Job Task Safety Analyses (JTSA), perform wire stringing, sagging, clipping, and dead-ending of conductors, and climb poles to replace cross arms, transformers, and repair conductors. Operate bucket trucks, digger derricks, and related equipment while properly grounding conductors and establishing an Equipotential Workzone. Assist with training and development of Groundmen and Lineman Apprentices, and provide leadership in the Crew Foreman's absence. This role requires reading complex diagrams, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of OSHA regulations, and handling materials up to 50 lbs. You must work safely on live distribution systems during hot and dead hours, perform Pole Top and Bucket Truck Rescues as required, and identify equipment issues for repair reports.
Required Qualifications
- Current driver's license
- CDL
- Crane license
- Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status
Desired Qualifications
- 5-6+ years of experience in Transmission and/ or distribution line work
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, blueprints, schematic drawings, and procedure manuals
- Ability to work with tools such as powered and non-powered hand tools, and operating equipment including bucket trucks, digger derricks, and related equipment
- Ability to understand and support wire stringing, sagging and clipping activities
- Willing and able to follow instructions and ask clarifying questions
- Ability to handle materials that can weigh up to 200 lbs.
- Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills
- Detail-oriented with active listening skills and effective communication, including openness to diverse input and feedback
- Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs.
