Job Summary
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on industrial applications including generators, engines, fire pumps, and control systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and electronic issues in generator systems. Conduct load bank testing, system upgrades, and installations as needed. Respond to emergency service calls and provide after-hours support. Ensure compliance with safety standards and document service activities with detailed reports. Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in excellent working conditions. Must be willing to travel to various job sites and work flexible hours, including after-hours shifts. Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus. Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in most all-weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, and working in inconvenient locations
- Willing and able to work in most all-weather conditions and environments
- Must provide and maintain own basic tools
Desired Qualifications
- Technical school or vocational training in power generation, electrical, or mechanical systems
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Power Generation Technician or in a related field
- Strong knowledge of diesel and natural gas engines, electrical systems, and control panels
- Familiarity with generator/engine brands such as Cummins, Caterpillar, Kohler, John Deere, MTU, Detroit, or similar
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, multimeters, and other testing equipment
- CDL
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to travel to various job sites and work flexible hours, including after-hours shifts
