Power Generation Commissioning Technician II

Job Summary
Install, commission, inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair generators while performing preventive maintenance and operational testing. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, fuel, cooling, control, and starting system issues by reading schematics and service manuals. Conduct load bank testing, inspect transfer switches and switchgear, and document all findings through detailed service reports. Support startup of generator systems, verify installations meet engineering specifications, and coordinate with project managers during retrofits and upgrades. Respond to emergency service calls and equipment outages as assigned. Maintain professional customer relationships, provide operational guidance, and ensure all work complies with OSHA, NFPA, and environmental regulations. Valid driver's license required; extensive travel and flexible weekend or emergency schedules expected.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Technical degree
- Military training
- Trade certifications
- Valid driver's license
- Acceptable driving record
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds

- Ability to travel throughout assigned service territory

- Must be able to work varying schedules
