Job Summary

Independently develop moderately complex overhead and underground distribution designs by interpreting applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. Prepare complete project and job packages, including material lists, requisitions, and construction drawings, while updating required systems and work requests. Collaborate with construction teams and customers to address design issues, evaluate loading considerations, and resolve power quality challenges. Perform field assessments with minimal oversight to validate system conditions, maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners. Support team training and consistently demonstrate safety policies. This role requires regular on-site attendance, a valid driver's license, and 2-4 years of experience in utility power distribution engineering.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school
  • 2-4 years of experience in utility power distribution engineering or related craft work
  • Valid driver's license
  • Vehicle suitable for business use
  • Regular on-site attendance
  • Ability to interpret applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
  • Ability to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions
  • Ability to independently develop moderately complex overhead and underground distribution designs
  • Ability to prepare complete project and job packages including material lists, requisitions, and construction drawings
  • Ability to independently update required systems, records, and work requests using current work management tools
  • Ability to collaborate with construction teams, clients, and customers
  • Ability to proactively address design issues, evaluate loading and reliability considerations, and resolve power quality challenges
  • Ability to perform field assessments with minimal oversight
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners
  • Ability to support the training and development of other team members
