Job Summary

Apply technical skills to evaluate options and design safe, cost-effective electrical facilities for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Conduct job-site visits to interact with construction personnel, accurately evaluate loading on distribution equipment, and prepare project packages including material lists, drawings, and labor estimates. Demonstrate ability to apply codes, regulations, and policies while using design software and work management tools. Maintain organized files and records, communicate job status to meet client deliverable dates, and mentor under-experienced personnel. Requires high school degree, 0-1 year experience in power distribution engineering or GIS/CAD, and valid driver's license.

Required Qualifications

  • High school degree or GED
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle suitable for business use
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, operational procedures, etc.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or the business community
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret spread sheets
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
  • Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Self-motivated, savvy, reliable, trustworthy, as well as technically competent
  • Demonstrated team player
  • Demonstrated negotiating skills
  • Demonstrated time management skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient user of personal computer, particularly Microsoft Office based on applications
  • Ability to constructively manage multiple tasks
  • 0-1 Year(s) Experience in power distribution engineering or craft or GIS/CAD work
  • Regular ATTENDANCE

Desired Qualifications

  • Associates degree (AA or equivalent from two-year college or technical school)
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or University in non-engineering science, math, or business
