Power Engineer / System Operator

Job Summary
The System Operator at Tenaska is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the real-time dispatch of customer power generation facilities and controllable load resources. Candidates must have an undergraduate degree in engineering and demonstrate strong computer and analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office, and a commitment to compliance with market and operational rules. The role requires dependable attendance, as well as the ability to prioritize projects and make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be willing to work twelve-hour shifts and travel for training seminars.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office
- Proficiency with database, spreadsheet, real-time, and internet applications
- Strong customer service, time management, and organizational skills
- Written and verbal communication skills
