Job Summary
Design and deploy high density power conversion and isolation systems while developing power distribution architectures and analyzing critical loads. Simulate power electronics systems to create models that enable controls and embedded systems development programs. Work with a tightly knit team across disciplines to develop all aspects of the Karman Heat Processing Unit, implementing novel solutions to challenging problems. Develop analytical, physics-based models to determine hardware performance and limitations, and analyze compliance requirements for certification standards and industrial grid codes. Perform hands-on integration of high-power systems on product skids.
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc./B.Eng. electrical engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in the design of power distribution hardware and systems
- Experience designing and fabricating electrical devices using software packages such as Altium and KiCAD
- Familiarity with energy conversion devices, switches, transformers, disconnects, breakers, fuses, and similar equipement
- Hands-on experience with power distribution equipment and integration
- Self-motivated / high performer, ability to self-manage, multi-task, and communicate excellently
Desired Qualifications
- Background in medium-voltage distribution
- Experience working with electrical safety standards in the UL or IEC family
- Experience with analytical design, turbomachinery testing and engine testing
- Experience with mechanical packaging for electrical systems
