Job Summary
Power Electronics Engineer responsible for owning the design, manufacture, and test of power circuitry for highly integrated PCBAs used by space customers. Collaborate with software, RF hardware, and FPGA teams to shepherd the product from design to vehicle integration, taking a full-stack approach to building robust space communication systems. Responsibilities include designing, analyzing, and testing DC-DC power converters for space; performing electrical power system trades and requirement development; defining verification testing and analysis; and working with multidisciplinary hardware/software/production teams to create new power electronics hardware. Basic qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, 3+ years of experience, Altium schematic capture/layout, and experience in modeling, simulation, and testing of power electronics. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree and FMEA experience, and familiarity with diverse converter topologies and spacecraft power systems. ITAR-compliant eligibility or necessary authorizations are required to work on space projects. The company emphasizes an inclusive, accessible environment and provides accommodations upon request.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or other STEM discipline
- 3+ years of professional experience designing power circuitry
- Proven experience doing schematic capture and layout in Altium Designer or similar
- Experience in modeling, simulation, and testing of power electronics
- Experience designing and debugging power converters
