Job Summary
Remote Power Distribution and Make Ready Designer role focused on overhead distribution and make-ready design for utilities. Responsibilities include executing design work orders, applying NESC requirements, conducting make-ready and joint-use design, performing pole loading analysis, permitting and easement research, collaborating to resolve design challenges, and delivering construction-ready packages using CAD/MicroStation, DDS, Katapult, O-Calc, Katapult, and GIS tools. Requires 2+ years in make-ready engineering or distribution design, strong knowledge of utility pole design and NESC, and ability to work remotely with a 2-week in-person orientation at Perrysburg, OH headquarters.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred in engineering, drafting, or related field; 2+ years of experience in make-ready engineering, joint-use design, or electric power distribution design; proven experience in utility pole design including NESC application, clearance analysis, pole loading concepts, and preparation of construction-ready design packages; proficiency with CAD or MicroStation; experience with DDS, Katapult, O-Calc, or similar platforms; valid driver’s license, auto insurance, background/MVR screenings; authorization to work in the United States; ability to travel occasionally; standard Monday–Friday schedule aligned to Eastern Time
