Power BI Engineer

Job Summary
Capture and analyze business requirements for BI solution design, developing scalable data models and semantic models in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. Implement and maintain CI/CD processes to support product development while producing high-quality documentation for internal and customer-facing audiences. Build insightful dashboards and reporting solutions for the Payments team, ensuring alignment with branding standards and seamless integration with Oracle databases, Microsoft Fabric OneLake, and data warehouse–sourced data. Train and support users in transforming data into actionable insights while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience designing scalable data models and semantic models in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric (including star schema, relationships, calculation groups, and model optimization)
- Experience working with Fabric OneLake and similar cloud-based data platforms
- Demonstrated expertise in Power BI, including Power BI Desktop, Power Query (M), DAX, Tabular Editor, AML toolkit, Power Pivot, and Power BI Service
- Strong knowledge of SQL for data manipulation, cleansing, transformation, and validation
Desired Qualifications
- experience with BigQuery
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and dimensional modelling
- Ability to build insightful dashboards and reporting solutions in Power BI, including reports from non-SQL data sources (e.g., API, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Dynamics)
- Knowledge of payment processes and systems such as SWIFT and FGPP
- Experience documenting data products and managing changes and service impacts
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
