Power BI Developer

Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI Desktop and Service while building optimized data models with star or snowflake schemas. Develop efficient SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from relational and cloud-based sources, then implement and manage datasets, reports, and workspaces. Monitor report performance by optimizing queries and models, perform administration tasks including user access management, role-based security, and dataset refresh scheduling, and troubleshoot issues related to reports and data refreshes. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, ensure compliance with data governance and security standards, and create technical documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 6+ years of related experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI
- Strong proficiency in SQL (Snowflake, Oracle, MS SQL Server, or similar)
- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, snowflake schema)
- Experience working with structured and semi-structured data
- Knowledge of ETL concepts and data pipelines supporting BI solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Azure Synapse, BigQuery, etc.)
- Familiarity with DAX and Power Query (M language)
- Exposure to data governance and reporting standards
- Experience in performance tuning and large dataset handling
- Understanding of business intelligence best practices and visualization design
