Job Summary
Operate powder coating equipment (spray guns, conveyors, wash systems, curing ovens) to coat metal parts; perform surface preparation (cleaning, sanding, masking, pre-treatments); conduct quality inspections for coating thickness and appearance using mil-gauge; adjust equipment to meet thickness, texture, and color specifications; monitor, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance on the coating line; collaborate with team to meet production deadlines; adhere to safety protocols and maintain organized work areas; perform related tasks such as masking, sanding, hanging parts on conveyors, and maintaining department records.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a powder painter in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Strong understanding of powder coating techniques and equipment operation
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and work instructions
- Knowledge of safety procedures and PPE requirements for working with powders and chemicals
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
- Flexibility to work on different shifts and schedules to support production requirements
