Job Summary
Ensure quality application of powder coatings to fabricated components by blasting, washing, and moving carriages in and out of spray booths. Clean and maintain powder coating guns and equipment, thoroughly cleaning booths during each color change while troubleshooting malfunctions and reworking material as necessary. Adhere to all safety procedures, policies, and work instructions including SOPs, MOPs, and JSAs, reporting quality issues and unsafe conditions to supervisors. Maintain good housekeeping and follow established protocols for product compliance, laws, and regulations. Work in a team environment lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted, standing, walking, and bending for an 8-hour shift.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent experience
- Must have basic math skills
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to use various tools and measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measure, dial indicator, and feeler gauges
- Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch for an 8-hour shift
- Must be able to distinguish shades and colors
- Must understand powder coating equipment adjustments and maintenance
- Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel machinery, equipment or parts and work near moving mechanical parts
- Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of post-offer requirements, including a background check and drug screening
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in paint applications preferred but not required
- Experience in powder coating a plus, but not required
- Preferred strong knowledge of material prep and powder application
