Job Summary
Powder “B” Operator responsible for cutting bags of CA, monitoring flow, and placing product on an unloading station using a forklift; manage excess product to bins or super sacks; record daily bags cut and report to A operator or Shift Supervisor; prepare equipment for maintenance and deconning/deenergizing; respond to plant emergencies (including SCBA use); collect samples for processing; maintain housekeeping and safety inspections; operate forklift to move materials; file inventory tags and complete production reports for inventory control; assist other operators as needed; participate in safety programs; may perform additional duties as directed by supervisor. Requires high school diploma, forklift experience in a chemical industry, ability to wear respirators and SCBA in certain conditions, ability to ascend stairs, shift work with overtime, and effective communication in a team environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- 1 year forklift experience in a chemical industry
- ability to wear respiratory protective equipment for extended periods
- ability to wear SCBA gear during emergencies
- ability to ascend stairs up to 80 feet
- ability to perform shift work with some overtime and call-outs
- good communications skills and ability to function in a team environment
- follow oral or written instructions, set procedures, work rules and standards
- pass physical and drug test
