Job Summary
Manage assigned breeder farm operations to maximise hatching egg production, fertility, and hatchability through daily monitoring of bird health, behaviour, and environmental conditions. Optimise feed, water, lighting, and housing standards while overseeing egg collection and quality control. Identify production issues early to implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement across key metrics. Lead and support farm staff with hands-on guidance, training, and direction to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently. Maintain strict compliance with biosecurity, animal welfare, and quality standards while championing a strong health and safety culture. Full-time permanent role with annual salary of $76K to $86K.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Agriculture, Animal Science or similar
- Proven experience in poultry or breeder farm operations, with a minimum of 5 years' experience
- Strong track record in managing bird performance and production outcomes
- Hands-on experience working in farm environments
- Good understanding of breeder management practices including feeding, lighting and environmental control
- Ability to monitor and interpret production data and take action
- Experience leading teams in an operational setting
- Strong problem-solving skills in a live farm environment
- High level of accountability and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams
