Job Summary
Service Room Technician responsibilities include unloading boxes of poults, clipping talons, performing dew-claw and de-snoot treatments, checking customer orders for medications, injecting poults with medications using PSP machines, separating toms and hens for correct boxes, moving boxes for shipment, rotating between positions, and performing sanitation duties to maintain a safe, clean environment. Must follow biosecurity and animal-welfare protocols, work effectively as part of a team, stay organized, be flexible to work in various positions, be knowledgeable about medicines and vaccinations, handle poults with care (up to 15 lbs lifting), and be prepared for extended workdays or additional days as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in animal husbandry and welfare preferred
- Ability to communicate verbally with others; ability to listen; ability to read to perform the duties of the job
- Bilingual Spanish speaking ability desired
- Ability to lift 15 lbs and to bend, stoop and squat to complete job duties
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time, to walk, and to use hands for the entire work shift

- Prior experience in animal husbandry and welfare preferred.
