Job Summary

Process payroll with speed and accuracy by auditing employee pay records, reconciling totals by department and location, and ensuring deductions align with federal, state, and union regulations. Serve as the liaison to employees and third-party vendors to verify compliance with evolving laws and interpret complex policies regarding vacation, disability, and tax withholdings. Coordinate system implementations, document procedures, and train staff while backing up specialized tasks such as stock option exercises and SEC filings. Resolve diverse problems by analyzing limited information to devise creative solutions for unusual circumstances, adapting communication styles to persuade senior partners and advise on difficult matters.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of related experience
Bachelor's degree
3 years and a Master's degree
PhD without experience
Equivalent work experience
Complete knowledge and full understanding of area of specialization, principles and practices within a professional discipline

Ability to interpret pay policies, (e.g., vacation, LOA, disability, workers compensation, union contracts, government regulations, withholding exemptions, etc.) and ensure appropriate amounts/deductions are calculated and applied to the various accounts correctly
Ability to verify compliance with federal and state payroll requirements
Ability to coordinate third party payroll system implementations and upgrades
Ability to audit employee pay records and reconcile totals by department, location, country, etc.
Ability to serve as liaison to employees and with third party payroll vendors to ensure payroll processing accurately reflects company specific pay policies
