Job Summary
Lead Potbelly shop operations with a focus on building a positive Good Vibes culture while achieving financial and operational goals. Train, coach, and develop shop team members; interview, hire, and onboard staff; effectively schedule Associates and Shift Leaders; drive local shop marketing and promotions to maximize sales; manage P&L and control costs; ensure health and safety standards, proper cash handling, and back-of-house procedures; maintain communication boards and hold regular staff meetings; resolve customer issues and maintain exceptional customer service; spend the majority of time on the shop floor delivering hands-on leadership and ensuring high standards of execution.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of at least 2 years as a General Manager in a restaurant or retail environment with P&L responsibility preferred
- Be able to stand/walk for 8-9 hours or as needed
- Ability to work a minimum of 45 hours per week
- Food safety certification within 30 days of employment
- Strong customer service skills and communication skills
- Microsoft Office skills
- Financial literacy and ability to interpret financial reports
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Ability to schedule and manage labor goals
- Ability to manage costs and budgets
- Ability to delegate and follow-up
- Willingness to be on the shop floor 80-90% of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Maintain deadlines and prioritize
- Knows health and safety standards for food, cleanliness and safety
