Job Summary
Postdoctoral Scholar opportunity at Penn State focusing on translating scientific evidence to policymakers. Responsibilities include designing and analyzing observational and survey data on policymakers’ engagement in boundary-spanning initiatives, performing longitudinal and multi-level analyses, data extraction and cleaning from diverse sources (e.g., surveys in Redcap, CRM data), developing analytic plans for grants and publications, supporting grant writing and reporting, meeting with legislators or staff to collect survey data, mentoring interns and fellows, and setting milestone-driven research plans. Qualifications emphasize excellent analytic abilities and advanced statistical modeling (longitudinal, multi-level, overdispersed data), proficiency in SAS/STATA/R, strong attention to detail, experience with large administrative or real-world datasets, and a bipartisan, policy-oriented mindset. Ph.D. completion required; preference for applicants within commuting distance to Washington, D.C. and willingness to work in a hybrid/remote setup with high-quality internet.
