Job Summary
Postdoctoral position in the Kamal laboratory within the Center of Orthopedic Research and Translational Science, Department of Orthopedics, Penn State Hershey. The role involves laboratory work using complex genetic mouse models and primary cell culture systems to understand osteoarthritis pathophysiology. Requires experience with small animal handling, surgeries, dissection, basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, western blotting), basic cell culture, and basic histology/immunohistochemistry. Employment follows internal/external application pathways with remote-work approvals guiding eligibility; benefits are provided for full-time appointment.
Required Qualifications
- PhD or MD in biology, cell signaling, pharmaceutical sciences, medical sciences or related discipline by appointment start date
- proof of ABD status by time of hire
- experience with genetic mouse models and primary cell culture systems
- basic small animal handling, surgeries, and dissection
- basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, western blotting)
- basic cell culture skills
- basic histology and immunohistochemistry skills
