Job Summary
Join the Zhivagui Lab at UNLV as a Postdoctoral Scholar specializing in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) to conduct cellular and molecular lab work focused on cancer genomics. Responsibilities include designing and executing experiments, processing human biological samples, performing molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, and NGS library preparations. The role also involves optimizing and developing new assays, maintaining detailed records, analyzing experimental results, assisting in manuscript preparation for publication, and contributing to grant applications. Candidates must hold a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD and have experience in NGS technologies and genomic analysis.
Required Qualifications
- A doctorate degree, PhD, MD, or MD/PhD from an accredited college or university
- Experience in NGS technologies and genomic analysis
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in high-throughput screening, next-generation sequencing, or bioinformatics
- Experience in cell culture of primary and stem cells
- Preference for experience with iPSCs and organoids
- Excellent organizational skills
- Careful attention to detail; ability to accurately follow experimental protocols
- Ability to think creatively, solve problems, and meet deadlines
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Strong written/oral communication skills
- Ability to analyze data and perform statistical analyses
