Job Summary
Conduct research in quantum algorithms and quantum information, developing hybrid quantum-classical algorithms to solve domain-specific problems in bioinformatics, breeding, biomaterial synthesis, and enzyme design. Evaluate models for expressivity and scalability on near-term hardware, benchmarking against classical baselines while exploring long-term quantum readiness. Collaborate with the Micro and Quantum Systems group to publish high-impact research and supervise PhD students. Join the MQS research group at Aalto University in Espoo for a two-year fixed-term contract with a salary of approximately 4200€/month.
Required Qualifications
- PhD
- excellent study records in theoretical physics, mathematics, computer science, or other relevant field
- sufficient background in quantum computing to conduct research on the topic
- demonstrated ability for independent and collaborative research on advanced topics
- working proficiency in English
