Job Summary
Postdoctoral Researcher in Geometric Algorithms to perform advanced research on algorithms and computational complexity in Euclidean and non-Euclidean settings (notably hyperbolic geometry). You will join the Computational Geometry Group to publish in top theory venues, collaborate with international partners, and participate in teaching following standard departmental practices. Strong emphasis on developing and analyzing geometric algorithms, contributing to ongoing projects, and expanding your professional network through conferences and visits; located at Aalto University Otaniemi campus in Espoo, Finland. The role supports collaboration with a diverse team and international partners; the position offers travel support and opportunities to establish new collaborations.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in theoretical computer science, mathematics, or a closely related area
- Research-level experience with the design and analysis of combinatorial algorithms
- Deep interest or familiarity with computational geometry / geometric algorithms
- Interest in discrete mathematics and graph theory, non-Euclidean geometry, computational complexity theory, computational topology
- Experience with hyperbolic geometry is not required
